Ron and I went to Santa Margarita with our good friends Daniel and his dog Tanner, and Jack and his girlfriend Karla. The weather was spectacularly warm and mild for a late January day!
Jack has known for nearly three decades about the now-defunct mercury mine on the Rinconada Trail, off of Pozo Road, and so he was the perfect tour guide. Many years ago, he actually attempted to purchase the home site (it has since been demolished) and surrounding property!
Ron was — and IS — our musical director. On our outdoor adventures, we usually bring the Martin Backpacker guitar, the Kooky Uke (ukulele), and sometimes my Little Luna travel guitar, and we always have our voices! And now we’ve started packing the BASS ukulele whenever Daniel (a.k.a. Phil Durt, Bass) joins the festivities.
Music and Mother Nature, no amplification required.
So, here we all are at the refinery section of the mercury mine, condensing our soundscape into a sweet little snippet for your viewing and listening pleasure.
Show notes are in the BooTube version, but if you watch it here on my Stack, the essential details are below the video.
