As many of you know, my husband Ron and I bought a truck and small travel trailer in late 2020/early 2021 because we had too many terrible experiences flying to and from visiting our families and friends in the Midwest. Over the past three years, we have taken our little rig — Spicy and the Micro Minnie — during the months of July and August to see our far-away loved ones.
That pattern changed in October 2023 when Ron’s father died at the age of 89. We both ended up flying, at different times, to eastern Michigan to say good-bye to Papa.
The timing is such that we can now go to help Ron’s sister wrap up Papa’s estate. We are doing a spring roadtrip to support her and her husband with those affairs. Along the way, we will also visit my family in central Wisconsin, and even make a separate trip to stay with my father at his home in southern Wisconsin. He will be 87 years old on May 21st. We are grateful that he is in very good health.
This year, other than time with family, we have scheduled only one two-night stay to explore a new area; that is in Sedona, Arizona. We are on a mission.
In addition to typical routes to get to our families and see friends along the way, we will be exploring some new terrain (hello, Texas panhandle!), staying at a few new campgrounds and Harvest Hosts, and having fresh experiences.
I will do my best to blog our travels so you can experience our experiences, haha!
We depart in a few days, and there is MUCH TO DO. I hope to post in the first week, on our way to central Wisconsin.
As always, I appreciate your well-thought comments.
I wish you all excellent health, well-being, and life-affirming creativity!💝
Wow, I envy you those travel "companions," they are handsome indeed!
Sorry to hear of your hubby's dad's passing, so much harder for us left here than them being in what I will call The Good Harbor... Sending hugs for the hubster. And great that you can visit your own dad, too. Have a wonderful trip!!! I'm looking forward to your posts en route. xo xo xo
Wow! I can't believe it is already that time!! Hope you have very safe travels, great visits with family, and lots of magical adventures!! Enjoy Sedona too, as it looks like you will have great weather there! ❤️💝❤️💝
